Former England winger Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after crashing his Lamborghini on a motorway in May.
The 31-year-old appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 15, where he also admitted possessing six nitrous oxide canisters intended for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Sterling was arrested after the crash, which occurred on the M3 motorway on the morning of May 28. According to police, no other vehicles were involved and nobody was injured.
The former Chelsea player attended the hearing wearing a black suit jacket, black trousers, black shoes and a dark-coloured top.
Sterling won 82 caps for England and last represented the national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He began his senior career with Liverpool before moving to Manchester City in 2015, where he won four Premier League titles among several major honours.
He joined Chelsea in 2022 but later struggled to secure a regular place in the team. Sterling subsequently spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Arsenal before signing a short-term deal with Feyenoord in February. He made eight appearances in the Eredivisie.
