Jamie Bynoe-Gittens Could Leave Chelsea in January as Xabi Alonso Faces Decision

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could reportedly leave Chelsea in the January transfer window after a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge.

The winger joined Chelsea following an impressive spell at Borussia Dortmund, with the club hoping he could become an important part of the team. However, things have not gone according to plan so far.

Bynoe-Gittens has struggled to secure regular playing time and has made just 55 minutes this season. His lack of opportunities could now raise questions over whether his future remains at Chelsea beyond January.

Xabi Alonso Has a Decision to Make

With Xabi Alonso now in charge at Chelsea, the situation surrounding Bynoe-Gittens will be one to watch closely.

The Spanish manager will have to decide whether the 21-year-old remains part of his plans for the second half of the season or whether allowing him to leave temporarily or permanently would be the best option.

Bynoe-Gittens arrived in London with plenty of potential after showing what he could do in Germany. However, regular football will be important for his development, and continuing to spend most of his time on the bench could become a problem.

AS Roma Previously Showed Interest

There is already interest in the winger from elsewhere.

AS Roma were reportedly interested in Bynoe-Gittens during the summer, while a possible deal involving Roma midfielder Manu Koné was also discussed late in the transfer window.

However, the proposed move did not happen, with Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly vetoing the transfer.

That could leave the door open for Roma or another interested club to return for Bynoe-Gittens when the January window opens.

What Happens Next?

For now, Chelsea have a decision to make.

Alonso could choose to keep Bynoe-Gittens and give him more opportunities to prove himself, particularly if he believes the winger can still have an important role in his plans.

Alternatively, Chelsea could listen to offers if the player’s situation does not improve over the coming weeks.

At this stage, nothing has been decided, but with January approaching, Bynoe-Gittens’ limited playing time means his future at Stamford Bridge is certainly worth watching.

The next few months could determine whether he remains part of Alonso’s plans or begins the next chapter of his career elsewhere.
