Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on Valerenga winger Gabriel Rajkovic, who is quickly making a name for himself as one of the most exciting young talents in Scandinavian football.
According to FootballTransfers on Saturday, September 12, 2026, several Premier League clubs have been monitoring the teenager, with Arsenal and Chelsea believed to be among those showing the strongest interest.
Rajkovic joined Valerenga’s senior squad in January when he was just 14 years old. A few months later, he made his competitive debut in March at the age of 15 years and 20 days.
That appearance saw him make history as the youngest player ever to feature in Norway’s Eliteserien, breaking the previous record held by Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard.
Since then, Rajkovic has continued to earn more opportunities with Valerenga’s first team. He scored his first league goal against Bodo/Glimt in August before making his first start in the thrilling 5-5 draw against Aalesunds FK.
The youngster then provided an assist against Molde before finding the back of the net again as a substitute against Sarpsborg last week.
His rapid progress has naturally attracted attention from clubs outside Norway. Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among the teams following his development closely, with scouts from both clubs having watched him score against Bodo/Glimt.
However, any move to England is still some way off. Due to international transfer rules concerning minors, Rajkovic would have to wait until he turns 18 before he can make a move to an English club.
The teenager represents Norway at youth level and also has Serbian heritage. At almost 6ft 2in, he already has an impressive physical presence for a winger and has also been used as a striker.
He is left-footed but is reportedly comfortable using his weaker foot, while his size, versatility and attacking ability have made it difficult for scouts to find a direct comparison.
One scout quoted by FootballTransfers summed up his unique style simply: “It is hard to liken him to anyone.”
Given his Norwegian background and record-breaking start to his career, comparisons with Odegaard are understandable. However, Rajkovic is considered a much more physically imposing attacker, with some similarities to Ousmane Dembele rather than being viewed as a direct replacement for the Arsenal captain.
With Arsenal and Chelsea continuing to monitor his progress, Rajkovic could become one of Europe’s most wanted young players by the time he becomes eligible to move to England.
